A virtual conference takes place entirely over the Internet. You attend from any web connection, interacting with uploaded material and submitting your comments from anywhere. The ICOMOS Virtual Forum is taking place during 1 week and is intended for those that cannot attend on site for any reason.
What can I expect during web attendance to ICOMOS? During each web access to the conference site, you will read articles, comment them and interact with our presenters and your colleagues. Each presentation includes opportunities to ask questions as submitted messages, get answers, share ideas and establish contacts with other participating colleagues.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a virtual conference?
On the days of the conference, regular participants and viewers enter in ICOMOS website with username/password and look for a topic of interest. Viewers (universities and institutions) can read and download the articles on the website, but cannot post comments. Those who have not registered can read only the abstracts directly on the website, but cannot post comments.
What are the basic technical requirements to participate? Participants will need personal computers with reliable internet connections. More details on presentation will be available on the conference website in due course of time. A PC or Mac computer with a standard Internet connection (56 kbps or higher).
How do I contact if I have technical questions about participating in the conference? If you have any technical questions about the virtual conference or require any assistance at all, please contact: conferences@praiseworthyprize.com.
